The first step is to pay your non-refundable deposit through cash, check, Venmo, or our online store to reserve your preferred beef or pork quantity.
Once your cow or hog is taken to the butcher, you will receive an email from the butcher with information and the cuts sheet. Need help filling it out? Give us a call, we're happy to help.
The butcher will contact Plentiful Pastures with the hanging weight of your animal. Next, Plentiful Pastures will send an invoice for your final balance to the email you listed when paying your deposit.
After processing is complete and you’ve paid your final balance, your beef or pork will be ready for pickup at the designated butcher, either in Unadilla or Elmwood. They will contact you with pickup details.
At Plentiful Pastures, we pride ourselves on our natural, healthy, and delicious meats.
Our main products are Pork and Beef. We currently work with 2 local butchers - Elmwood Meat Plant & MK Meats in Unadilla, Ne.
Once you decide to purchase meat from us, we deliver your animal to the butcher. The butcher will then contact you. This is when you determine what cut, thickness, and seasoning (if desired) works best for you.
We sell:
-whole, half, and quarter cows
-whole and half pigs.
After deciding on your meat cuts, the butcher begins. The hanging weight of the animal determines the balance owed to plentiful pastures. The hanging weight is the weight after all the innards, entrails, blood, bowels, and guts have been extracted and disposed of. The processing fees, turning our cow or pig into an edible product, are due directly to the butcher shop. These fees depend on which and how much of each cut of meat you pick.
When your produce is ready for pickup, drive to the butchers with your coolers to pick up your delectable, farm-fresh meat.
The amounts listed are roughly the amount of meat you will take home. The amount of beef you get after processing is about 60% of the hanging weight of the cow. Lbs of meat depend on desired cuts and the individual cow.
The amounts listed are roughly the amount of meat you will take home. The amount of pork you get after processing is about 67% of the hanging weight of the pig. Lbs of meat depend on desired cuts and the individual pig.
Pro-tip - Ensure that you have enough freezer space before you buy!
Plentiful Pastures eggs are a little easier to come by. Our eggs are collected, cleaned, and packaged by our kiddos every morning. They are available by the dozen or as a pack of 18. You can make a one-time purchase or become a subscriber and come pick up your eggs weekly, biweekly, or monthly.
Since there are no USDA-certified poultry processors in our area, we are building our own! The plans and permits are ready for construction this year. By 2025, we will be set to pluck, prune, and process our chickens right here on the farm. Currently, we take our chickens to Duncan's Poultry in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
